Schauenburg Group in Africa has announced its intention to plant 960 trees in the Western Cape in partnership with the organization Greenpop. This initiative is part of Schauenburg’s sustainable development goals, which align with the United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goal 13 – Climate Action. The number reflects one tree per employee of the Schauenburg Group in Africa.
Greenpop is an environmental organization that focuses on ecosystem restoration work, with a passion for encouraging companies and organizations to actively partake in creating a greener future. By partnering with Greenpop, Schauenburg is taking action to contribute to a working ecosystem and environmental conservation efforts.
Schauenburg’s tree-planting initiative with Greenpop is a step towards supporting its sustainability goals. The company recognizes the importance of environmental conservation and is taking action to contribute to restoring ecosystems. By planting trees in the Western Cape, Schauenburg is contributing towards reforestation efforts.
Forests are essential for the planet’s survival. They hold more than three-quarters of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity and provide many products and services that contribute to socio-economic development. They are also a critical lifeline for hundreds of millions of people in rural areas. Schauenburg’s initiative to plant trees is a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability. Recently, Pro Optima Audit Services investigated Schauenburg Systems’ ESG concept and assessed it as “very good”.
“Greenpop are on a mission to inspire environmental stewards across Sub-Sharan Africa. We believe that change is possible when we all come together and join hands for a greener tomorrow. In order to do this we need to all do our part. The support of local companies, organisations, communities and government is pivotal to making this work possible, as we solve biodiversity loss and restore ecological balance. Thank you to Schauenburg for joining us on this journey. We look forward to restoring more ecosystems with your support.” – Misha Teasdale, Greenpop Director
“Schauenburg joins many other sustainability-conscious companies in this initiative, such as DHL, BOS Ice Tea, and Capital International, amongst others. Through their collective efforts, they are making a positive impact on the planet and ensuring that future generations inherit a healthy and sustainable environment. We hope that our efforts will inspire other companies to join us in promoting sustainability and environmental conservation.” Dieter Kovar, Schauenburg International – Africa Group CEO, expressed.
